One of the things that really bothered me whenever I would try to learn a new technology, was the disadvantage that people without funds would have. I have dedicated a lot of my time to democratizing technology, which is why I am a huge proponent of open source. When it came to content management systems, I worked in Drupal. When it came to ML I focused on MetaFlow and MLFlow. When it came to AI, I put my time and energy in local LLMs, ollama and koboldcpp. You shouldn't have to pay hundreds or thousands to stay relevant in tech.
